Your first steps
on M-Board
New to the platform? This guide walks you through everything you need to get up and running.
Signing In

Go to the login pageNavigate to the M-Board homepage. Your organisation will provide the URL. You will see a role selector with three cards — Member, Department Manager, and Administrator. Select the one that matches your role. All three lead to the same login pipeline, so you will always be redirected to your correct dashboard after signing in regardless of which card you choose.

Enter your credentialsUse the username or email address your administrator provided, along with your password.

Two-Factor Authentication (if enabled)If 2FA is active on your account, you are redirected to the verification page. Enter the 6-digit code sent to your registered email address. Codes expire after 10 minutes. After verifying, you may be prompted to enrol the device — see the Device Trust step below. 2FA is mandatory for administrators and department managers.

Device verification (new or unrecognised device)If you are signing in from a device M-Board has not seen before, you are redirected to Verify New Device. A 6-digit one-time code is automatically sent to your email. Enter the code (valid for 10 minutes), then choose whether to Remember This Device — trusted devices skip this check on future sign-ins. If you choose not to trust the device, the check runs every time you sign in from it.

Access your dashboardYou're in! Your dashboard shows pending elections, polls, upcoming events, and recent notifications.
One login pipeline, three portals. The Member, Department Manager, and Administrator cards on the selector screen all lead to the same authentication system. After a successful sign-in, M-Board automatically redirects you to the correct dashboard for your account type — no matter which card you tapped.
First login? You may be required to change your temporary password immediately. Choose a strong password with at least 8 characters including uppercase, lowercase, numbers, and a special character.
Device verification email — if you see a "New Device Detected" email that you did not initiate, change your password immediately and contact IT support with the subject [URGENT — SECURITY]. Never share OTP codes with anyone.
Setting Up Your Profile
- Navigate to Profile → My Profile to review your details — name, email, phone, and bio.
- Upload a profile photo — click the Change button on your avatar to open the 3-step crop-and-upload sheet (choose → crop → review).
- Verify your email, department, and employee ID are correct. Employee ID and department are read-only — contact your administrator if anything is wrong.
- Enable Two-Factor Authentication under Profile → Security for added protection.

Installing as an App (PWA)
M-Board works as a Progressive Web App — install it to your home screen for a native-app experience with offline capability.
- iOS (Safari): tap the Share button → "Add to Home Screen"
- Android (Chrome): tap the three-dot menu → "Add to Home Screen" or accept the install banner
- Desktop (Chrome/Edge): click the install icon in the address bar
